Do you collect from Dubai Marina for a desert safari?
Yes, and there is no surcharge for it. Pickup from Dubai Marina, JBR and the surrounding towers is included on every desert safari we run. What you should know before booking is that the Marina sits on the far western side of the city and our camp is at Al Awir in the east, so the transfer is longer from here than from old Dubai.
The short version. Free collection from the Marina and JBR. Evening safaris leave around 2:00 PM and return around 9:30 PM. From AED 80 per person, or AED 500 for a private car, which is the option we usually recommend from this side of town.
What the Marina location means for your day
Guests staying at the Marina, JBR, Dubai Media City or Palm Jumeirah are crossing the length of the city to reach the desert. That is normal for Dubai safaris, and it is the same for operators running to Lahbab or Al Faqa, but it does shape which tour makes sense.
The practical effect is that you spend more of the tour in a vehicle and less at the camp than a guest collected from Deira. If that matters to you, there are two sensible responses.
Book the private safari at AED 500 per car. With your own vehicle there is no collection queue picking up other guests along the way, so the journey is direct and you choose when to leave the camp.
Or take the evening safari rather than the morning one. The evening format gives you several hours at camp, so the drive is a smaller share of the experience. The morning safari is only three to four hours in total, and from the Marina a larger part of that is transfer.
Pickup times from Dubai Marina
- Morning safari. Collected 7:00 to 8:00 AM, back between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
- Evening and VIP safari. Collected around 2:00 PM, back around 9:30 PM.
- Overnight safari. Collected around 2:00 PM, back the next morning around 8:00 AM.
Exact time depends on your tower and on Sheikh Zayed Road traffic, so we confirm the day before. Many Marina towers have restricted vehicle access at the entrance, so we will often agree a specific drop-off bay or the hotel lobby with you in advance rather than guessing on the day.
Which safari suits Marina guests
The Marina and JBR draw holiday travellers, couples and groups rather than the family and long-stay pattern we see from Bur Dubai, and that changes the usual recommendation.
The VIP evening safari at AED 120 is the most popular choice from this area. Same route and activities as the standard evening tour, with reserved seating in a dedicated part of the camp and shorter waits for food and shows. After a long transfer, not queuing is worth something.
The standard evening safari at AED 80 is the best value and includes the same dune bashing, camel ride, sandboarding, BBQ buffet and live entertainment.
The private safari at AED 500 per car makes most sense for groups of four or more, where the maths works out close to seat prices anyway.

Fitting a safari around a Marina stay
An afternoon pickup leaves the whole morning free, which is how most Marina guests use the day. Beach time at JBR, a walk along the Marina promenade or the Ain Dubai area, lunch, then collection at around 2:00 PM.
If you have a late flight, the morning safari has you back by midday with the afternoon and evening clear. If you are staying several days, the overnight safari is worth considering, since it is the one format where the long drive is clearly worth it: you get the evening camp programme, sleep in the desert and see sunrise before returning.
Common questions
Is there an extra charge for Marina pickup? No. Pickup is included across Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
How long is the drive? Longer than from Deira or Bur Dubai, since the Marina is at the opposite end of the city from Al Awir. Exact time depends on traffic.
Can you collect from JBR or Palm Jumeirah? Yes, both, on the same terms.
Will we be picking up other guests on the way? On a shared tour, sometimes. On a private safari, no.
Is the morning safari worth it from the Marina? It works, but the transfer is a larger share of a three to four hour tour. If your schedule allows, the evening format gives you more for the drive.
