Your experience begins with a private pickup from your hotel or residence in a dedicated 4×4 vehicle reserved only for your group. There is no waiting for other guests or multiple stops along the way. As you leave the city behind, the surroundings gradually open into wide desert landscapes, allowing you to settle into the journey at your own pace. The transition from urban roads to open dunes feels smooth and uninterrupted, setting the tone for a more relaxed and controlled experience from the very beginning.
Tailored Dune Driving Experience
Once you reach the desert, your driver prepares for the dune drive and adjusts the experience according to your preference. The route is carefully selected to offer a balance between movement and stability, whether you prefer a more dynamic ride or a steady scenic drive. Unlike shared tours, you are not bound by a fixed intensity, giving you the freedom to shape the experience around your comfort level.

Priced per vehicle, not per person
This is the one tour we sell by the car rather than by the head, and it changes the maths completely. A couple booking privately pays the full vehicle rate between two. A family of five or six pays the same total, which brings the cost per person down close to a shared tour while keeping everything a private tour gives you.
The practical implication is that private safaris look expensive to solo travellers and couples, and become the obvious choice the moment your group fills the vehicle. If you are three or more people travelling together, compare the vehicle rate against the per person rate on the evening desert safari before assuming a shared tour is cheaper.
Adjustable dune intensity is the real reason to book
On a shared safari the driver sets one intensity for a vehicle full of strangers, which means it is calibrated for the average passenger. Somebody in that car is usually having a worse time than they expected, and it is generally the youngest passenger, the oldest, or the one who did not want to say anything.
On a private safari the driver is driving for your group only. The dune session can be softened, shortened, paused or skipped entirely, and it can be adjusted mid session if somebody is uncomfortable. Nobody has to endure it and nobody has to sit the whole trip out to avoid it.
That makes this the correct booking for families with young children, for elderly guests, for anyone prone to motion sickness, and for anyone with back, neck or heart concerns who still wants to see the desert and the camp. It is also the only format we would recommend to a pregnant guest, with the dune session removed.
Your own pace, and no waiting
Shared tours run to a fixed collection order, which means waiting in hotel lobbies while other guests are picked up, and waiting again at each stop for the slowest passenger. A private vehicle collects you and departs. At the sunset stop you can stay longer for photographs. At the camp you arrive and leave when you choose rather than when the vehicle is full.
Pickup is typically between 2:30 and 3:30 PM with a return around 9:00 PM, and because the vehicle is yours those times have some flexibility. If you need a later start or an earlier finish, say so when you book and we will work around it, which is not something we can offer on any shared format.
