Lahbab is genuinely scenic, and the red dunes are striking. The trade off is a longer journey, which means a little less time at the camp for the same tour length.

If you want a shorter drive and more time in the desert, Al Awir is the practical choice. If deep red dune photography is your priority, Lahbab has an edge on scenery. From most central Dubai hotels, Al Awir is roughly 40 to 50 minutes away, while Lahbab is a little further. For guests staying in Deira, Bur Dubai or Downtown, the shorter Al Awir route is noticeably more convenient. If you are staying out toward the Dubai and Al Ain road, the gap narrows.
