Is there a desert safari with pickup from Bur Dubai?
Yes. Pickup from Bur Dubai is included free on every desert safari we run, and like Deira it is one of the best-placed areas in the city for it, because our camp sits in the Al Awir desert directly east of old Dubai rather than out towards Lahbab.
The short version. Free collection from anywhere in Bur Dubai. Evening safaris leave around 2:00 PM and return around 9:30 PM. Morning safaris leave between 7:00 and 8:00 AM and are back before midday. From AED 80 per person, or AED 500 for a private car.
Why Bur Dubai works well for a desert safari
Bur Dubai sits on the western bank of the Creek, and everything around Al Fahidi, Meena Bazaar, Al Mankhool, Karama and Oud Metha is on the eastern side of the city relative to the desert. That puts you closer to Al Awir than guests staying out towards the Marina.
In practice that matters most in the evening. A safari booked from a beach hotel means a long westward drive home after dinner. From Bur Dubai the return is shorter, which is worth thinking about if you have children with you or an early start the next day.
It also pairs naturally with how most people use Bur Dubai. If you are spending a morning in the textile souk, crossing the Creek by abra and walking the Al Fahidi historical district, an afternoon pickup for the evening safari fits the day without rushing it.

- Morning safari. Collected 7:00 to 8:00 AM, back between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
- Evening and VIP safari. Collected around 2:00 PM, back around 9:30 PM.
- Overnight safari. Collected around 2:00 PM, back the next morning around 8:00 AM.
Your exact time depends on your building and on Creek traffic, so we confirm it the day before rather than at booking. We collect from hotels, apartments and residences. Where a vehicle cannot stop easily, which happens in parts of Meena Bazaar and the older lanes around Al Fahidi, we agree a meeting point with you in advance on a main road.
Which safari to book from Bur Dubai
Bur Dubai draws a lot of families, long-stay visitors and travellers on a budget, which shapes what usually suits.
Best value. The evening desert safari at AED 80 per person. Dune bashing in the Al Awir red dunes, sunset stop, camel ride, sandboarding, BBQ buffet and live entertainment at camp.
Best for a packed itinerary. The morning desert safari at AED 100. Back before midday, leaving the afternoon free for the Dubai Museum area, the souks or a Creek cruise.
Best for families. The private desert safari at AED 500 for the whole car. Dune intensity is adjustable and the pace is yours, which matters when you are travelling with young children or older relatives.

- Evening safari — AED 80 per person, AED 500 per private car (6 to 7 guests)
- Morning safari — AED 100 per person, AED 500 per private car (up to 6)
- VIP evening safari — AED 120 per person, AED 650 per private VIP car

Combining a safari with a day in Bur Dubai
The evening safari leaves the whole morning and early afternoon open. A common pattern among our guests is the Al Fahidi historical neighbourhood and the coffee museum first, then the abra across to the spice and gold souks, back for lunch, then collection at around 2:00 PM.
If you would rather do it the other way round, the morning safari has you back by midday with the entire afternoon and evening free, which suits anyone with dinner plans or a night flight.
Common questions
Do you charge extra for Bur Dubai pickup? No. Pickup and drop-off are included across Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
Can you collect from a hotel apartment? Yes, hotels, serviced apartments and private residences.
Is it suitable for young children? Yes. Dune bashing is recommended from age 7 upward. Younger children can join and wait at the dune stop with a parent during the driving session.
What if we are staying in Karama or Oud Metha? Both are covered on the same terms as Bur Dubai proper, with no surcharge.
When should we book? October to April is the comfortable season. In summer take the morning tour, which finishes before the worst of the heat.
